CPhI Russia @ IPhEB, the largest and most comprehensive pharmaceutical industry event in Russia, CIS and CEE , providing a crucial networking point for domestic and global businesses is now returning to Russia for the fourth consecutive year.

With global companies looking to gain access to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Central East European (CEE) regions, CPhI Russia and its colocated events established in 2013, bring together the region's top suppliers, providing a gateway to this booming pharma market.

This content-led exhibition and networking event, co-located with the IPhEB conference (forum), taking place from March 30 to April 1, 2016 at JSC VDNH (VVC), Moscow, is an ideal platform to break into this growing, dynamic region, hosting both domestic and international buyers and suppliers looking to meet, network and drive the Russian market.

Says Erik Heemskerk, Brand Director Pharma at CPhI Russia, "Once again, we return to the great city of Moscow, with 3000 attendees from 67 countries, nearly 250 exhibitors, and a conference and content-led exhibition that delivers unrivalled access to the CIS and CEE regions. This is the leading event in the region for top-level executives from the pharma, biotechnology, medical and radiology sectors. Russia’s pharmaceutical market is widely acknowledged as being at the forefront of the pharma emerging markets. Thanks to this event, the country has attracted a strong base of international pharma companies – an overwhelming 76 per cent of total pharmaceutical sales are attributed to imported drugs – with many more foreign manufacturers now looking to capitalise on this attractive market."

A sister brand of CPhI Worldwide, the event gives a chance to meet with key decision makers in the global and regional pharmaceutical industry ; find all major suppliers of pharmaceutical ingredients, outsource equipment and bio-solutions from one location; source high-quality ingredients and services at competitive prices; network and gain access to one of the world's fastest growing pharmaceutical markets.

The event is also co-locating InnoPack and P-MEC – providing access to the full breadth and scope of opportunities in the pharma supply chain.

While P-MEC Russia will be showcasing the newest pharma machinery, equipment and technology, InnoPack Russia will be hosting the latest innovations in packaging and drug delivery systems. This year the event is also co-located with Fi - Food Ingredients and Hi - Health Ingredients Russia.

Says Erik Heemskerk, "Notable features in 2016 include the highly successful matchmaking programme – returning once more to enable attendees to book one-to-one meetings in advance with their most promising new business targets".

"Onsite, we also have the exhibitor showcases, providing a quick ‘snapshot’ of the different exhibitor offerings, trends and innovations on the exhibition floor; and the IPhEB Conference (Forum), which offers over 80 dynamic and educational sessions, debates, and round table discussions featuring the latest in-depth insights into this fast evolving economy. The topics will be presented across an array of formats, ranging from a keynote on ‘running pilot projects to improve pharmacological support’, to thematic sessions, master classes on ‘professional accreditation’ and ‘market access’, debates on ‘supplement verses medicines’ and round tables on chemical and pharm medical clusters ".

"Content is absolutely at the heart of the event, and to emphasize this, we have moved the theatres into the centre of the exhibition to ensure attendance and visibility".

Exhibitors at the event include some of the largest companies in pharmaceutical ingredients, machinery, equipment and technology , packaging and drug delivery systems, alongside domestic heavyweights

The highlights of the event include:
*IPhEB Conference (Forum), running throughout the event, providing key insights into the local market. IPhEB Conference offers over 80 dynamic and educational sessions, debates, and round table discussions featuring the latest in-depth insights into this fast evolving economy. The topics will be presented across an array of formats, ranging from a keynote on ‘running pilot projects to improve pharmacological support’, to thematic sessions, master classes on ‘professional accreditation’ and ‘market access’, debates on ‘supplement verses medicines’ and round tables on ‘chemical and pharm medical clusters’.

Market access tactics and implementation will be developed at the master class, including how to evaluate the medical importance of a disease, therapeutic and pharma economic viability, its prevalence over the existing treatment methods and availability.

*Speakers Corner, presenting a quick ‘snapshot’ of the different exhibitor offerings, trends and innovations on the exhibition floor.

*Matchmaking program, which is complimentary to use for all attendees. It helps visitors and exhibitors find the companies that best match their business needs, enabling them to pre-plan their schedule and provides a dedicated area solely designated to hosting meetings.

Growth in the domestic market has enabled CPhI Russia @ IPhEB to expand year-on-year, and this year, CPhI Russia will bring together over 3,000 decision makers and pharma professionals from over 67 countries, making it the region's leading pharmaceutical event.

In 2015, over 3000 attendees were recorded from 56 different countries and more than 200 companies from over 30 countries exhibited. This year because of the co-location of InnoPack and P-MEC within CPhI Russia, the event is now a 3-in-1 opportunity and provides natural synergies across different parts of the pharma supply chain. About 13 Indian companies will be exhibiting this year.

The year 2015 was the first time the event has ever been held Moscow. A key trend to emerge from the event was rising investment opportunities in the domestic market, with international companies looking to partner with or acquire local facilities, due to the Russian Drug Authority’s declaration to have 80 per cent of the total pharmaceutical market supplied through local manufacturing sites by 2020.

Another emerging dynamic from the show was the gradual shift towards increased Pharma partnerships and acquisitions as foreign manufacturers look to not only drive business from within the Russia, but also utilize this thriving market as a gateway to nearby CIS economies. Highlighting the internationalization of the Russia Pharma market, CPhI Russia @ IPhEB hosted over 800 meetings with senior executives, many between transnational pharma companies and regional suppliers.

According to Heemskerk "Fundamentally, there are two basic ingredients needed for a pharma economy to expand and flourish: access to medication, and the capability, know-how, skills and capacity to manufacture drugs. At CPhI, we use our knowledge of the global pharma market to design events that meet the nuanced local market requirements, whilst retaining their international scope."

"Russia is a complex market, but one ripe with future potential, and the content and market analysis at the event helps both domestic and international companies evaluate the opportunities. Whilst the CPhI exhibition facilitates the essential meetings in helping this market reach its full potential" , adds Heemsker.

The increased number of international exhibitors last year clearly exemplifies the rising globalisation of the entire industry and the Russian Government are actively looking to boost domestic pharma developments. Going forward, this suggests Russia is set to expand on both a domestic and international level and continue to become a key player with the global pharmaceutical industry.

Integral to the internationalization of this market is CPhI Russia, which acts a central hub for buyers and sellers within the region, providing a vital platform where pharma executives can connect, build and nurture existing relationships.
